Bathrooms.
Add one where there is none, refresh the one you have, or gut it back to the studs. Here is what separates them.

What the quote covers.
The commonest reason a quote comes in higher than expected is that the first one left something out. Ours does not.
In every bathroom
- Demolition and haul away
- Vanity, fittings and hardware installation
- Tile floor and surround, including setting materials
- Waterproofing behind tile
- Finish carpentry, trim and paint
- Daily cleanup and a final clean
Quoted separately
- Tile, vanity and fittings themselves, you choose them
- Anything hidden found behind the old surround
- Structural repair if the subfloor is soft
- Permit fees where the city requires them
What moves the number.
Does the surround come out
Keeping the tub or shower in place is the biggest single saving.
Tile area and pattern
Floor only is quick. A full height surround with a pattern is not.
Subfloor condition
Bathrooms are where old leaks show up. Soft subfloor gets repaired first.
Walk in conversion
Changing a tub to a walk in is a bigger job than swapping fittings.
Room size
A powder room and a primary bath are different jobs.
Fittings you pick
Largely in your hands, and quoted as its own line.

Other services.
Most homes need more than one thing. Doing them on one visit costs less than three separate trips.
