Exterior.
Siding and panelling, porches and decks, and handrails made solid again. We renew what is there rather than building new from scratch.

Three kinds of exterior work.

BeforeAfterPanelling and trim renewed on an existing wall
Siding and panelling
Panelling and siding repair or replacement on garages and exterior walls, including the trim around it. The quickest way to make a tired exterior look cared for again.
- What it covers
- Garage and exterior walls
- Structure
- Surface and trim
- Typical time
- Days
- Best when
- Panels are damaged, faded or missing
- Damaged panels removed and hauled away
- New panelling or siding fitted
- Trim renewed around it
- Fixings replaced, not reused
- Site cleaned at the end of each day

BeforeAfterNew boards and railings over a sound frame
Porch and deck refresh
New boards, railings and steps over a frame that is still sound. If the structure underneath has gone, we will tell you at the walkthrough rather than cover it up.
- What it covers
- Boards, railings and steps
- Structure
- Existing frame
- Typical time
- Days to a week
- Best when
- The frame is sound and the surface is tired
- Old boards and railings lifted
- Frame checked before anything goes back down
- New decking, steps and railing
- Handrails set at a safe height
- Site cleaned at the end of each day

BeforeAfterRail re-anchored and the footing made solid
Secure handrails
A rail is only as good as what it is bolted to. We cut out the failed footing, rebuild it, and re-anchor the rail so it takes someone’s weight.
- What it covers
- Rail and the footing under it
- Structure
- Re-anchored
- Typical time
- A day or two
- Best when
- The rail moves when someone leans on it
- Loose rail taken off
- Crumbling footing cut out and rebuilt
- Rail re-anchored into solid material
- Height and grip checked
- Site cleaned at the end of each day
What the quote covers.
The commonest reason a quote comes in higher than expected is that the first one left something out. Ours does not.
In every exterior job
- Removing and hauling away what comes off
- Panels, boards and railings fitted
- Fixings replaced, not reused
- Trim and finish work
- Handrails set at a safe height
- Site cleaned at the end of each day
Quoted separately
- Building a new porch or deck from scratch, we do not take that work
- Footing or foundation work
- Painting or staining, quoted separately
- Structural framing replacement found once boards come up
- Permit fees where the city requires them
What moves the number.
Surface or structure
We refresh sound structures. If the frame underneath has gone, that is a different conversation and an honest no.
Footprint
A larger deck or a longer wall run is more material and more labor.
Panel or board type
What you choose changes both the material line and the install time.
What the rail is bolted to
A rail in crumbling concrete needs the footing rebuilt first. That is the real work.
Height off the ground
Higher structures need more support and more railing.
Access
A tight side yard slows every trip in and out.

Exterior questions.
Do you build new decks and porches from scratch?
My handrail wobbles. Is that a quick fix?
What siding work do you do?
Do you paint or stain afterwards?
Other services.
Most homes need more than one thing. Doing them on one visit costs less than three separate trips.
