Terms of Service
The terms that apply when you use this site or request services.
Last updated · September 2, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you and Inherited Innovation LLC ("Inherited Innovation," "we," "our," "us"), an Ohio limited liability company. The Terms govern your use of our website at inheritedinnovation.com (the "Site") and the services we provide. By using the Site, requesting an estimate, requesting work, or accepting a quote, you agree to these Terms. If you are entering this agreement on behalf of a business or other entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity.
Who We Are and What We Do
Inherited Innovation is a Cleveland general contracting company serving the Cleveland metro. We are a single accountable point of contact for residential and commercial customers: repairs and renovations, room by room, and safety changes that help an older adult stay in their home. Larger jobs are handled as full contracting builds.
Work is carried out by our own team and, where a job calls for a specialty, by a subcontractor we engage. Either way Inherited Innovation is the party you contract with, we hold the relationship, and we stand behind the work.
Use of the Site
You may use the Site for lawful purposes only.
- Do not misuse the Site (interfere with operation, attempt unauthorized access, scrape, reverse-engineer)
- Do not submit false or misleading information through our intake forms or applications
- Do not impersonate another person or business
- Do not use the Site to harass, defraud, or harm others
- Do not violate any applicable law or regulation
Estimates, Scheduling, and Scope
Any estimate provided through the Site, phone, email, or in person is a good-faith approximation based on available information. Final pricing, scope, and timeline may change after on-site evaluation, customer-requested changes, or discovery of unforeseen conditions.
Work is not scheduled or guaranteed until you accept a quote in writing and any required deposit is received. Quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
Pricing and Quotes
We do not publish prices for the work we do, because the price depends on the room, its condition, and what we find once we can see it. Every job is quoted in writing after a free walkthrough. All amounts are in U.S. dollars.
A quote covers the scope written into it. If the scope changes, whether you ask for a change or we uncover something the walkthrough could not show, we tell you what it means for the price and the schedule, and we get your approval in writing before doing that work.
Deposits and Payment Schedule
Some jobs require a deposit before work is scheduled. The amount and the payment schedule for the rest of the job are written into your quote before you accept it. We do not bill you on a recurring basis and we do not hold a payment method on file to charge later.
Cancelling or Rescheduling Work
You can cancel or reschedule accepted work by replying to your confirmation email, emailing [email protected], or calling +1 (216) 424-4559. What is refundable depends on whether work has started. See our separate Refund and Cancellation Policy for the full terms.
Service Standards and Warranty
Inherited Innovation is accountable for the work, including any part of it we subcontract. If you are not satisfied with a completed service, contact us within 7 days. We will assess and, where appropriate, redo the work at no additional cost or refund the amount paid for that line item.
Any subcontractor we engage works to our standards under a written agreement. We do not warrant work beyond reasonable workmanship standards for the work involved. Manufacturer warranties on installed materials or equipment pass through to you per the manufacturer's terms.
Customer Responsibilities
- Provide accurate contact and service information
- Provide reasonable access to the property and utilities when required for work
- Disclose known issues that may affect the work
- Secure valuables, pets, and fragile items before work begins
- Pay invoices on time per agreed terms
Payment Terms
Card payments are processed by Stripe Inc. Invoices are due within the terms shown on the invoice (typically net-15 or net-30). Late payments may incur a fee of 1.5% per month on the past-due balance or the maximum allowed by Ohio law, whichever is lower. Returned payments may be subject to a $25 returned-payment fee.
For credit-card disputes, please contact us first, we resolve nearly all questions within 5 business days, faster than your card's dispute process.
Independent Contractor Relationship
Part of a job may be carried out by a subcontractor. They are independent businesses, not Inherited Innovation employees. We contract with them under a written agreement that binds them to our standards and conduct rules. Your relationship is with Inherited Innovation, and we are responsible for the work.
Third-Party Tools and Links
Our Site may include third-party services (payment processing, scheduling, embedded forms, analytics). Use of those services is subject to the respective third party's terms. We do not control their behavior; please review their terms separately.
Intellectual Property
The Site, its content (text, logos, design, photographs unless attributed otherwise), and our brand marks are owned by or licensed to Inherited Innovation and protected by U.S. and international intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
Submissions you make to us (e.g. reviews, photos with your consent) grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use them in connection with operating and marketing our services.
Disclaimers
THE SITE AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. WHILE WE WORK HARD TO PROVIDE RELIABLE INFORMATION AND SERVICE, WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE SITE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES NOT EXPRESSLY STATED HERE, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW: Inherited Innovation's total liability arising from or relating to these Terms, the Site, or any service will not exceed the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $1,000, whichever is greater. Inherited Innovation will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, even if advised of the possibility.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Inherited Innovation, its officers, members, employees, and subcontractors from any claim, demand, loss, or expense arising from (a) your violation of these Terms, (b) your misuse of the Site, or (c) your violation of any law or third-party right.
Dispute Resolution and Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. We require any dispute to first go through good-faith informal resolution: contact us at [email protected], and we have 30 days to work it out with you.
If informal resolution fails, disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Cuyahoga County, Ohio (or your county of residence, at your option). You and Inherited Innovation each waive any right to a jury trial.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email (if you have an account) and posted on this page at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
Miscellaneous
- If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect
- Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of that provision
- These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Inherited Innovation regarding the Site and services, replacing any prior agreement
- You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may assign ours in the ordinary course
These Terms are general website and service terms. They do not replace a written project contract, estimate acceptance, or invoice terms for specific work.
